    Thank you to everyone who came out and made this year’s Specifiers Challenge even better than the last. The 10 fastest drivers of the night competed and the winner was Paul Boken from Mulvey & Banani! The third fastest individual lap time went to HH Angus’ Campbell Corbet with 21.910s, Michael Lonergan of Lonergan Engineering came in second with 21.732s and the fastest individual lap time of the night was 21.530s by our very own Nick Puopolo!Īlthough the winning team received the coveted Specifiers Challenge trophy for display at their office until the next edition of go-karting, the rounds of practice, qualifying and team racing all came down to the final individual race. Smith + Andersen came in third with an average lap time of 22.594s, Hidi Rae won second place with an average lap time of 22.536s and the first place team was Hammerschlag + Joffe, with an average lap time of 22.453s. This year, the winning teams were determined based on average team lap times.

    Over a dozen firms throughout the GTA came together to compete in this year’s Specifiers Challenge, including Mulvey & Banani, Hammerschlag + Joffe, Hidi Rae, Smith + Andersen, MHBC, DEI & Associates, HH Angus, e-Lumen, MBL Engineering, Arup, MMM Group, Stantec, Lonergan Engineering, Ianuzziello & Associates and Crossey Engineering.

    The annual event started in 2008 as a way to bring together consulting engineers and landscape architects among the lighting specification industry and over the years, has become a highly anticipated evening of socializing and fun competition. On November 24, we hosted our eighth Formula 1 Specifiers Challenge at Grand Prix Kartways in Downsview, Toronto.
